Why Relocate A Structure?

Structures are moved for all kinds of reasons – because they are on property that is being developed, are historically significant, or fall in the path of highways, railroads, flood plains, or urban renewal. Many times a structural relocation can be made to increase the value of a home or business. Numerous moves are simply made on the same lot so the property can be subdivided to accommodate more homes or lots. Some customers even choose to rotate their structure to make it more aesthetically pleasing.

Why Elevate (Jack Up) A Structure?

Many of our customers choose to elevate their home to allow for a complete new foundation. A new basement or foundation significantly increases the value and longevity of your home or business, many times doubling the square footage of your property. With the new basement will come the most modern waterproofing techniques that will allow you peace of mind that your NEW lower level living space will stay dry and stable. We have converted many homes from crawl spaces or small dank cellars to full living area basements.

In flood plains we elevate homes and businesses above the base flood elevation to meet county compliance codes and significantly lower your flood insurance rates. In many cases you can seek assistance with ICC funds (Increased Cost of Compliance) through FEMA and your insurance provider or grants.

If your current foundation sits on unsuitable soils (plastic soil) where the sub grade is expanding and contacting you can experience much damage to your foundation (cracking, buckling, and sinking basements). This condition is very prevalent in the Midwest. Our EXPERT team can address and fix the situation permanently. Why patch, repair, or pier a broken foundation when you can replace it for a comparable price. Ninety five percent of the homes that we elevate to replace foundations have been patched or repaired in the past leaving homeowners with much heartache and needless money spent. Most of time it is not your foundation that is the problem but the soil that is under the building. Piering and patching the foundation does not solve the problem but simply BAND-AIDS the problem. EXPERT works with soils and structural engineers to properly address the problem to eliminate the poor soil conditions under your home and start your new foundation on a stable sub grade.
