Expert House Movers is more than a one dimensional
company, and unlike a lot of other movers out there working
just in the residential market, we are geared to take on commercial,
historical and heavy hauling/rigging projects.
We have an extensive track record spanning 60 years in over
25 states to prove it.
Residential
For most people, their home is their single biggest investment.
So when it comes to raising or moving your home

Movers has been raising and moving homes for over 60
years and there isn't much we haven't seen or done. Our
bread and butter jobs include anything from raising
or lifting a house for a new foundation or basement
where the old one has started to fail, to doubling your square
footage by elevating a house high enough for a second
story or installing a basement where there wasn't one before.
We can also move your home from one address to another
or move and or rotate your home on the same property to fit
your need. Expert House Movers is insured and bonded
as well as licensed in the states we work in. Our equipment
utilizes the latest in proven technology like the Unified
Jacking System, Self-Propelled dolly wheels and
all types of air, hydraulic and mechanical jacks
and rollers. With that being said, at the end of the day

Commercial
Expert House Movers has the tools, experience and the
team to tackle any moving, raising or shoring
needs that you have in the commercial sector. Many
times businesses have a completely different set of priorities
than those involved with residential moving and raising
projects. You need a company that has seen it before and can
translate that experience into the precise planning,
engineering, timely execution and reliable
follow-up that it takes to make a large or small commercial
project go smoothly and on schedule. Often times in commercial
construction the lowest initial price from a subcontractor
doesn't come close to resembling the real number after you
factor in unexpected cost over runs, money lost from blown
deadline after blown deadline or fines and work stoppages
stemming from your subcontractor's ignorance of OSHA and local
safety laws. Taking the time to factor in your movers past
experience with jobs like yours as well their knowledge of
how to deal with the different aspects of commercial construction
like certified payroll, OSHA compliance, ability
to be bonded for large jobs, working in a union environment,

between. In 2001 we moved an airport terminal in Newark, NJ
whose total weight came to 9,500 tons and is the largest Structural
moving project to be completed the United States in the last
15 years. We have moved more structures over 1,000 tons than
any other mover in the country and completed those jobs on
time. Whether it be a metal building, masonry building,
slab on grade, frame construction, stone
construction, plane, barge, one ton or 10,000
tons, we have the experience, the knowledge
and the track record to prove we are the most qualified for
the job.
Historical
We take great pride in our work and are passionate about moving
especially when it comes to saving historical buildings.
The list of historical projects Expert House Movers
has completed over the years shows the range of possibility
that exists when looking to preserve our country's architectural
history. It's fitting that the origins of our company in Virginia
Beach, VA is not far from that of our country in Jamestown
and Williamsburg, VA. Expert House Movers has
worked extensively to preserve historical structures
in places like Williamsburg, Richmond, Harpers
Ferry, Winchester, and our nation's capital. Some
of our historical projects include moving an
old masonry train station in Kansas City, MO, a covered
bridge in upstate NY, opera theatres in Minneapolis,
MN and Detroit, MI, a 200 year old white oak trees
in Wye, MD, the United States first international airport
in Newark, NJ visited by Amelia Earhart and
Charles Lindbergh to Squire Boone's house in MO.
When
you look at America's rich nautical history, light houses
are at the top of the list. When you look into moving a lighthouse,
there is no list, there's only Expert House Movers!
No other landmarks are as recognizable or gander more love
and affinity from those that lay eyes on them than America's
Light Houses. To date, no other company in the country
other than Expert House Movers has been contracted
to move any of America's Masonry Light Houses. Now
at five and counting we have built a reputation for precision,
reliability, having the team and the tools necessary
to overcome any obstacles, and the experience where
it counts to make government and private contractors confident
enough to let Expert House Movers be the last line
of defense between saving these magnificent structures or
toppling into the ocean. The Light Houses that have
been entrusted to Expert House Movers for safe and
successful relocation are the South East Lighthouse in
Block Island, RI in 1993, the Nauset and Highland
Lighthouses on Cape Cod, MA in 1996, the tallest unsupported
masonry light house in the world, the Cape Hatteras
Lighthouse in Buxton, NC in 1999, and the Sankaty Lighthouse
in Nantucket, MA in 2007.
Historic
preservation comes in many shapes and sizes and most are
not on the scale of a 4,000 ton Light House or a high
profile residence like that of Squire Boone. Most of
the job opportunities that come along are like the old house
that has been in your family for generations, the neighbor
that is going to tear down the old barn to put up a new garage
or the brick Victorian off the highway that you’ve
always admired, slated for demolition to make way for another
pharmacy. We love old structures and have a soft spot
for them all. (Especially two and three-hole outhouses!) So
no matter what size the job is, it is worth a call.

equipment, transformers, barges, etc. over
land, sea or in confined spaces, Expert
House Movers has a team of qualified professionals and
the track record of safe and successful projects that make
us a good fit for your Heavy Hauling and Rigging
needs. We work together with a team of engineers that have
the experience in moving and heavy hauling that is key to
taking on whatever challenges are involved with your project
and putting together a practical solution that can be implemented
in a cost-effective and time-conscious manner.
Our
equipment utilizes the latest in proven technology like the
Unified Jacking System, Self-Propelled dolly
wheels and all types of air, hydraulic and mechanical jacks
and rollers. We have Unified Jacking machines with
60, 19, 12, 9, and 6 outlets, 15, 30, 60, and 100 ton hydraulic
jacks, hydraulic push rams with 6 strokes, barge ramps, over
90 sets powered and non-powered dollies and various pumping
units. We have the steel, cribbing and equipment on hand that
gives us the ability to start virtually any job that comes
along or to respond to last minute emergency situations where
down time is a number one priority or not an option. Expert
House Movers rents dolly wheels, pumping units, steel
as well as providing a full range of consulting services for
jobs here in the United States and abroad.
